Time To Help With The Right Travel Gear
All these items might not be for everyone. And some of you might have these items already. This travel gear is what I recommend for a safe, fun and stress free trip to Thailand.
These are the basics that I use.
- Get an RFID blocking security wallet! This is something you should already have anyway. You can also get one for your passport.
- The next best thing to have is a portable luggage scale. This scale is a must for saving money on baggage fees and it doubles as a 5200mAh portable power bank so you can charge your devices as you are traveling to your destination.
- Noise canceling head phones. Head phones or earbuds are great for over seas plane travel. You will appreciate these on a 15 hour flight. Head phones are a little bulkier than the earbuds but the run time is over 20 hours versus around 4 hours for earbuds.
- If you are a reader, the Kindle Paperwhite is a go to for travel. You can use your laptop or tablet with kindle also, but I think the run time (the charge lasts weeks), the weight (around 6.5 oz) and the fact that it is waterproof speaks for itself. Bring it to the beach or the pool stress free.
- Water is essential when traveling. Get a filtered water bottle. This is must when traveling. In airports you can’t bring water through security. So just empty your filtered water bottle and go. When you get to the other side find a faucet and fill it back up. Done! Also, in Thailand, public water is treated basically the same as in the states. But Thai’s don’t drink the tap water. The chlorine and other chemicals used for keeping the water safe are considered bad to drink. I tend to agree. That being said, bottled water is around 10 to 25 cents in Thailand, so that is not a problem either. This item is just a great way to save a little cash and be safe at the same time.
- Cameras, Cameras, Cameras. Okay. This may seem to be a no-brainer. And I know you probably have a great camera on your cell phone. But having a GoPro HERO7 Black is a must have for live video. You won’t need a gimbal for this one. It has HyperSmooth Video Stabilization for smooth footage. This GoPro is waterproof to 33ft without a housing. It has voice control and 4K60 video + 12MP photos. This really is a stress free camera for your vacation.
- Let’s keep those devices charged. Power bank portable chargers are a great way to keep your phones and other gear going when you just don’t have an outlet. And they are not very expensive. No more running around the airport looking for an unused outlet. Again, peace of mind.
I will update and add to this list as I find more useful gear for traveling.
